
1-to-1 Precision Piercing & Metal Forming
A private, hands-on jewellery workshop focused on traditional metalsmithing techniques. In this session, you will work from pre-prepared metal forms designed by the studio, allowing you to focus entirely on precision cutting, control, and finishing techniques.
This is a metal fabrication and skill-based workshop, not a design course.
What You Will Do
You will transform pre-shaped brass forms into refined jewellery components through guided techniques including piercing and forming.
Final pieces may include:
- A pair of brass earrings (pre-shaped base provided)
- A ring or band form (pre-cut base provided)
You will complete the work directly under expert guidance.
Skills You Will Learn
Piercing Saw Control (Core Technique)
Using a jeweller’s saw, you will learn to cut and refine pre-set designs:
- straight line cutting
- curved line refinement
- zig-zag detailing
- circular and oval piercing
- star and geometric cut-outs (hexagon forms included)
Focus on:
- blade control and tension
- accuracy and flow
- clean internal cuts
- precision finishing
Metal Forming Techniques
- basic shaping and movement of brass
- refining pre-cut components
- edge finishing and smoothing
- preparing jewellery forms for wear
Studio Practice
- professional bench setup

4-Hour Introduction Session
A focused half-day workshop introducing core piercing and forming techniques using studio-prepared designs.
Any additional time beyond the 4 hours will be charged on the day, if the session is extended by mutual agreement.
Safety & Studio Requirements
This workshop involves the use of jeweller’s tools and a gas torch for certain finishing processes.
For your comfort and safety, please:
- wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing suitable for a working studio environment
- tie back long hair
- avoid loose sleeves, scarves, or dangling accessories
- wear closed-toe footwear
Safety guidance will be provided throughout the session.
