Recast Erosion Signet Ring – Recycled Sterling Silver 925 Sand Cast

A sculptural statement signet ring from the Recast collection, handcrafted in recycled Sterling Silver 925 using traditional lost wax carving and sand-casting techniques in my Cornwall studio. Created from an original wax model, the design continues the exploration of transformation, where surface, process, and form remain inseparable from the finished piece.

This men’s signet ring carries a strong architectural presence, with a substantial top surface measuring approximately 9.56 mm. The design features a refined, textured top contrasted by subtle irregularities born directly from the sand-casting process. Rather than being corrected or polished away, these marks are intentionally preserved, allowing the metal to retain its raw narrative and individuality.

Concept

The Recast collection investigates transformation through material memory and process-led design. Each piece begins as a carved wax form, then is translated into metal through sand casting, where unpredictability becomes an essential part of the final result. The collection embraces erosion, geological time, and the imperfect logic of nature, allowing each ring to retain traces of its making rather than erasing them.
