Black Trace Signet Ring with Ceramic Enamel — Recycled Sterling Silver 925

A bold sculptural signet ring from the Recast collection, handcrafted in recycled Sterling Silver 925 using traditional lost wax carving and sand-casting techniques in my Cornwall studio. Created from an original wax model, this piece explores the relationship between raw material, surface texture, and transformation — allowing the casting process to become part of the final design.

This men’s signet ring features a wide top surface measuring approximately 13 mm. The face is finished with a contrasting black Colorit ceramic enamel inlay, enhanced with subtle grey tones to create depth and a unique layered effect. The enamel sits against the textured silver surface, creating a striking balance between dark colour, raw metal, and refined craftsmanship.

The ring’s surface carries the natural marks and irregularities created through the sand-casting process. Rather than removing these traces, they are preserved to celebrate the individuality of the handmade process, giving each piece its own character and identity.

Finished with a combination of satin brushing and oxidisation, the silver reveals soft highlights and darker recessed textures, emphasising the sculptural quality of the design. Substantial yet comfortable, this signet ring is designed as a distinctive everyday piece for those who appreciate contemporary menswear jewellery with a strong connection to craft.
