Strata Band Ring – Recycled Sterling Silver 925 Sand Cast

A sculptural band from the Recast collection, the Strata Ring is handcrafted in recycled Sterling Silver 925 using traditional lost wax carving and sand-casting techniques in my Cornwall studio. The design explores transformation through process, where material, texture, and form are inseparable from the finished piece.

The surface reveals a rugged, organic texture contrasted by a smooth polished interior and refined edges. Inspired by geological strata and weathered landscapes, the ring reflects layered formations shaped over time. Subtle irregularities from the sand-casting process are preserved, giving each piece a distinct, natural character.
