Cherub Chandelier Earrings with Garnet & Turquoise – Handmade Sterling Silver 925

A dramatic pair of sterling silver chandelier earrings hand carved in wax and cast using the traditional lost wax technique. Inspired by the grandeur of Roman Empire ceremonial jewellery, the design reinterprets classical chandelier silhouettes through cascading silver chains and richly coloured gemstone detail. At the centre of each earring sits a hand-carved cherub, sculpted entirely in wax before casting, forming a focal point of movement, symbolism, and ornamentation.

The cascading structure is set with garnet and turquoise beads, chosen for their historical significance as two of the oldest gemstones used in jewellery. Their deep red and vivid blue-green tones create a deliberate contrast against the silver, enhancing both warmth and vibrancy in motion.

“These earrings were inspired by the grand chandelier earrings of the Roman Empire — those dramatic, cascading pieces worn by women of power and status, often set with pearls. I kept the spirit of that silhouette but made it entirely my own — replacing the pearls with garnet and turquoise, and placing a hand-carved cherub at the heart of it.”
